D-Day at Normandy, France. Today marks the 65th anniversary of that historic troop landing to drive the Nazi's out of France and to end the war.
Many participants in the invasion were men and women from East Philly. Kensington, Harrowgate, Port Richmond, Fishtown, Northern Liberties, Bridesburg. East Philly was home to a large force of military personnel who either joined or were drafted into the armed forces.
Their dedication for family, country, community carried over into their actions in defeating the Nazi's.
Come and live and work in East Philly the home to many American heroes.
Why by living here and working here you too can become a true American hero. For it is in these working class neighborhoods we found so many brave Americans to fight for freedom.
Onward America and onward East Philly!
Later,
Americaduff
